Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure Opening Day Reviews Are In

Photography by: Universal Orlando Resort
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has cause to celebrate even more so than usual today: Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is finally open and fans are beyond satisfied with how Universal Orlando Resort's latest attraction turned out.

Anticipation hit an all-time high after several members of the Harry Potter cast were spotted around the park and appeared to commemorate the ride's opening. Fans lined up at Islands of Adventure, where Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade is located, to get first dibs on the new rollercoaster.

Devoted thrill seekers and Potterheads started to queue as early as 5am. For the first few hundred lucky and well-prepared park guests, they were first to ride the coaster after the park opened to the public at 9am. For others, the wait extended up to ten hours as thousands lined up around the park. With most of the latest expansion set outside, inclement weather such as thunderstorms throughout the day forced the ride to temporarily close before reopening. Universal Orlando Resort tried to make sure their guests were taken care of as much as possible handing out free water and bringing out characters to entertain.

Despite the heat, rain, and long lines, fans reactions are absolutely magical. By interacting with familiar and new magical creatures as well as the Hogwarts groundskeeper, the attraction is everything fans have come to expect and more. Here are some of the best reactions so far from across social media:

A new attraction at Universal Orlando Resort has been a mystery to fans since construction walls first appeared around Wizarding World of Harry Potter Hogsmeade. After much speculation, the rumors about its theme, name, and grand opening have finally been confirmed!

Hold tight, Potterheads! Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure will open June 13, 2019 at Islands of Adventure.

Set in the Forbidden Forest and inspired by the beloved Hogwarts's groundskeeper Hagrid, Universal Orlando briefly describes the attraction in their press release: "For the first time ever, join Hagrid as you fly far beyond the grounds of Hogwarts castle on a thrilling roller coaster ride that plunges into the paths of some of the wizarding world’s rarest magical creatures."

Since early 2018, anticipation has been building about the possibility of a new Hagrid inspired attraction coming to Islands of Adventure in Orlando, FL. Details first started to come to together about the ride's queue as well as one of the first posters featuring a mischievous Cornish pixie.

Tom Felton, who portrayed Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies, met up with art director Alan Gilmore in the Forbidden Forest to give us a sneak peak of the coaster. The coaster is promised to be one of the most innovative and immersive new attractions at Universal Orlando Resort.

Is Hagrid Inspiring A New Ride at Wizarding World of Harry Potter Orlando?

The Ministry of Magic at Universal Orlando has been hard at work constructing a new ride at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Florida. Set to open in Summer 2019, the mysterious attraction is starting to come together this holiday season.

The former Goblet of Fire inspired rollercoaster Dragon Challenge closed in 2017. Construction wizards have been transforming the space into a new thrill ride promising to be one of the most innovative attractions in the theme park landscape.

With only a few months left before the grand opening, a major development can be seen looming near the Hogsmeade Station entrance and exit. Does it look familiar? Perhaps, the home of our old friend Hagrid?

While there has been no confirmation of what element the ride will be based on from the Harry Potter universe, speculation has been mounting over the attraction's track so far.

Earlier this year we may have been given a decent clue from a 'Coming Soon' poster for the ride which features a flying pixie, and a rollercoaster track that dives in and out of the Forbidden Forest.

Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Hogsmeade already contains a Hagrid-inspired ride where Buckbeak observes witches and wizards as they are whisked around his hut. If another attraction based on the Forbidden Forest or Hagrid's Hut proves out to be true, it'll be interesting to see even more new plans develop if Universal Orlando transforms Flight Of The Hippogriff into another ride.

One missing piece of the ride's layout is the formation of another central building located in the far back of the attraction, where the old Dragon Challenge's queue existed. Even though there's no nearby-buildings around Hogwarts as we know it in the books and movies other than Hagrid's Hut, there's a few loose theories of what the new building might eventually turn into: The Boat House surrounding Hogwarts, The Shrieking Shack, or perhaps another Hogsmeade Station. Some speculate that it might be The Great Hall from Hogwarts, which seems a little far-fetched since Hogwarts is located right around the corner.

Nevertheless, the new ride at Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Hogsmeade could easily take the form of a “Care of Magical Creatures” class taught by Rubeus Hagrid (with Robbie Coltrane reprising his role) and plenty of lovable creatures from the series for fans to come across. We'll have to wait and see as more developments take place in the upcoming months!

Is Hagrid Inspiring A New Ride at Wizarding World of Harry Potter Orlando? We're definitely looking forward to what Universal Orlando Resort will conjure in Summer 2019.

New Ride Replacing Dragon Challenge at Wizarding World of Harry Potter

New Ride Replacing Dragon Challenge at Wizarding World of Harry Potter

In 2017, Universal Orlando Resort announced the permanent closure of the Dragon Challenge attraction in Hogsmeade Village. Buried in the depths of the forest, the rollercoaster was modeled after the second task in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire where Harry and the other triwizard competitors try to acquire a golden egg dragons are protecting. Not long afterwards, a second announcement was made where the ride would be replaced with an all-new attraction. And, it's just now, with the construction walls up and cranes standing tall into the sky, that we are start to see the new attraction take shape.

Specific deals about the new attraction, set to open in summer 2019, are still unknown. Which leads us to speculate what exactly will be filling in the gap at Hogsmeade Village.

5 Essential Relationships in the Harry Potter Universe

Being in love with the Harry Potter fandom is not easy. There are characters who passed away, some who didn't end up with the "right" people, and others who just didn't get the time of day we wished they would've gotten. But, to be a character in J.K. Rowling's series? That might be even tougher. So much beautiful love and yet tragic heartbreak came with being a wizard/witch in her wizarding world. February is dedicated to love in spite of all of its disappointments, and here we are celebrating some great relationships from Harry Potter.

Hagrid and his magical creatures

Tested for his individuality of being a giant, Hagrid turned his care and attention towards other creatures that were strange and unusual. From his own dog Fang to the giant spider Aragog and firebreathing dragons, Hagrid adored animals as they were his greatest friends. In the walls of his hut, through the forbidden forest and even after serving time in Azkaban, he never failed to try instilling respect for these misunderstood creatures.

Argus Filch, Hogwarts and Mrs. Norris

Though Harry Potter declared Hogwarts was his home, one guy was with the famed boarding school through its lightest and darkest days: Argus Filch. A janitor to the school he stayed through all the different Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers, Yule Balls and Triwizard disasters. As a squib, he lived in the one environment where so many students had powers he couldn't fulfill. After being petrified by Tom Riddle, his other companion Mrs. Norris, was beside him always even when Hogwarts had been reduced to bricks.

Remus Lupin and Nymphadora

A relationship not only tested (but eventually succumbed) to the devastating and dangerous second Wizarding War. Their chemistry, trials, and tribulations were more explored in the book series and in the film. A lightly tended to relationship in the movie series, Remus and Nymphadora were together until the end.

Ginny Weasley and Harry Potter

If you look back on the series, Harry was quite the ladies man. Cho Chang, Luna Lovegood, the waitress at the diner, and Hermione Granger were all female characters fans could have seen Harry end up with. Bu through the years there was a quiet relationship brewing. We saw the youngest Weasley pine for the chosen one but their connection was always pushed to the backburner. Eventually, these two end up hitched, with a family sending their own children off to Hogwarts.

Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley

Possibly one of the most popular relationships in the series. They started out as friends; two peas in the golden trio pod. The first few years together, Ron and Hermione were at odds and ends always bickering with friendly fighting words. Their friendship molded into a romance that took years of fiery chemistry and was finally sealed with a kiss in Deathly Hallows. A married couple with their own kids nineteen years later, we can only imagine that all was well between them.
