Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Premieres in Australia

The magic of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child arrives in Melbourne, Australia this weekend. Fans lined up in front of the Princess Theatre, where almost 700 lucky Potterheads won tickets to witness the witness finale dress rehearsal. The cast and writers attended a special red carpet to celebrate the show's official opening.

The eighth story picks up where Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows ends. The golden trio Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley alongside Ron and Hermione are sending their own children off to Hogwarts, where Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy embark on a new adventure.

Melbourne marks the third location to start its round of production, one that includes forty-two actors. The New York production won six Tonys in 2018 after opening on Broadway to rave reviews, and the original London West End show is in its third round of cast members portraying our favorite characters. San Francisco will be the next location to cast a spell on audiences with its opening set for October 2019, and Hamburg, Germany in 2020.
